CENTURION engines are jet fuel piston aircraft engines for General Aviation certified according to the requirements of FAA and EASA. Cabair Maintenance can retrofit the CENTURION 1.7 in a Piper PA28 or Cessna 172 to replace conventional avgas engines.
Cabair Maintenance will fit the CENTURION 1.7, the 99 kW (135 hp) jet fuel piston engine into your Piper or Cessna aircraft. The CENTURION 1.7 is a turbo charged four cylinder in-line engine. JAA certification according to JAR-E was issued by the European Aviation Authorities on May 3, 2002 and the FAA certified the engine according to FAR-33 in October 2003. The CENTURION 1.7 engine is certified for the use of both jet fuel and automotive diesel (EN590). The innovative CENTURION 1.7 aircraft engine surpasses conventional avgas engines in fuel efficiency, handling and quality. It is also safer and more reliable. The CENTURION 1.7 is equipped with a redundant electronic engine management system, known as FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control). Two independently operating systems health check each other permanently; the healthier one takes control automatically. FADEC controls and monitors engine functions and enables the use of a single lever control for all operating parameters including propeller pitch control. The FADEC logs all relevant engine data for analysis. CENTURION 1.7 is running with jet fuel (kerosene) and diesel in any mixture ratio. For further information, download a PDF or contact us here.
